Inventing and Fostering the Anti-brand for Pizza Lovers
HotBox Pizza has been a working with MediaSauce literally since the idea for the new chain began. When the founders of a young Pizza company wanted to reinvent themselves and attract a niche funloving and dare we say “edgy” audience, there was no question that MediaSauce could make it happen.
With a product that borders on a commodity for 18-35 year olds, it’s a big understatement to say that competition in the pizza delivery industry is brutal. HotBox needed a brand that stuck out and appealed to a different kind of audience that would grow with them, adopt them as one of their own, and carry their flags through the streets to make HotBox an unlikely household name.
MediaSauce began our long journey with HotBox by helping to finalize the name, create the taglines and slogans and concept the initial brand. From there, we designed in-store materials like menu boards, box tops apparel and a bunch of other fun stuff.
As stores opened and the numbers of fans grew, MediaSauce helps HotBox evolve the brand, create new campaigns and engage with droves of fans and future happy converts. We even got the chance to invent a fake National Holiday in honor of HotBox’s famous breadsticks – probably one of our proudest moments as an agency.
The latest HotBox website features a fresh, responsive design that delivers a great experience on all devices, critical in an industry so reliant on mobile orders. Management of the site is quick and easy, allowing for quick adjustments such as adding new promotions or specials at the drop of a hat.
